PROCESS
In Smile Design, it is very important to understand the aesthetic expectations of the patient correctly and determine the needs properly. Firstly the problems are determined and plans are made on models prepared according to the measurements taken from the patient’s mouth. Later, measurements are made using special programs in a computer environment with intra-oral and facial photos of patients and the adaptation level for the face is calculated.
Again the approximate images that will occur after treatment are presented to the patient with high technological programs and temporary restorations prepared in accordance with the patient’s mouth size and face measurements, lastly but most importantly patient’s ideas are taken into account.
After planning period is completed, if orthodontic treatment is not required, first of all, disorders that exist in the gums are regulated. In case of dental deficiencies, planned implant procedures and other necessary surgical applications are performed. After the healing periods of surgical applications are completed, teeth whitening procedures are applied if necessary.
After this stage, visual and formal disorders that exist in the teeth are sometimes eliminated through aesthetic composite fillings. If this method is not sufficient enough, porcelain laminated applications and coatings and zirconium coatings shall be used. If porcelain or zirconium applications are considered as appropriate, a number of changes can be made during rehearsals to take the patient’s opinions again. During all these gum and tooth applications and rehearsals, the shape and contour of the lips are also taken into account and the most convenient design is given to its final state.
